OUR PHILOSOPHY
How We Teach
At Star Montessori, our philosophy fundamentally shapes our approach to teaching and guides how our learners engage with the material. We view philosophy as the foundation for both how educators impart knowledge and how students internalize what they learn. While the new Ghana Education Pre-Tertiary Curriculum Framework emphasizes key philosophies like social constructivism and social interactionism, we embrace a diverse range of teaching philosophies.
This commitment to a multiplicity of teaching approaches is driven by our understanding that each learner has unique needs. Our classrooms are filled with students who possess varying cognitive abilities and learning styles—whether auditory, visual, audio-visual, or kinesthetic. Therefore, it is essential that our teaching philosophy remains flexible to accommodate these diverse needs and developmental paces.
We also believe in cultivating independence, critical thinking, and a strong sense of community among our learners. In line with this, our educational philosophy incorporates the following key perspectives:
• Montessori Philosophy
• Social Constructivism
• Social Interactionism
• Pragmatism
These philosophies together form the foundation of our teaching approach, ensuring that every learner is supported in their unique journey of growth and discovery.
